The Mod Brothers Cardboard Case Competition
Thursday, April 29th, 2010Well, we had some fantastic entries in the first ever Mod Brothers Cardboard Case Competition. My entry wasn’t spectacular, but I think I did an okay job considering. Here’s a couple shots of my finished computer case made entirely out of cardboard and paper, including the mech! You can see some of the other entires here, at the official Mod Brothers site.

O-scope: Resurrection
Saturday, August 9th, 2008After two long years, I’ve decided to finish Project O-Scope. Some things have changed since I last worked on it. It’s now going to be used as a car computer, and will have a 400W AC Inverter with it.
Here’s the latest shots of me stripping the case for priming and bodywork:

The New Mod Shop!
Saturday, June 21st, 2008Yes, after selling my wonderful air-conditioned Mod Shop in New Orleans (and I think we sold a house to go with it) it’s time to pimp out my new workspace! At least as much as you can pimp out particle board.
New Camera = Mod Pictures!
Sunday, June 8th, 2008I just picked up a new digital camera. I’ve been wanting a nice one, and after my kids lost the cheap-o one I’ve been getting by with, I sprung for a new Kodak Z812IS.
It’s nice, but more importantly, I can make videos with it, and I don’t need a video converter box to copy over VHS anymore. This alone will cut my video production time in half. Well, not really, but I can dream, can’t I?

A nice review of this nice camera will nicely be posted here soon. Nice!
The Helix Nebula Project

This project started off as a challenge to do a nice, cheap mod on a schedule. I think it came out rather nicely! The case is an Ultra Micro, found on sale for $35.
